Waiting on God can be incredibly difficult because we don’t know His timing. We don’t always know what He’s doing behind the scenes or whether there are things He’s asking us to do while we wait. It’s easy to become uncertain about our role in receiving the good things God has promised us.
As believers, we have the beautiful responsibility of partnering with God by saying “yes” to what He has promised in His Word. By faith, we can agree with Him and take hold of everything He has already made available to us through Christ. But while we’re waiting, it’s vital that we continue to grow our faith.
Romans 10:17 tells us that “faith comes from hearing, and hearing through the word or Christ.” The only way our faith grows is by continually filling ourselves with God’s Word. That’s why we need to keep His promises at the forefront of our minds, meditating on them daily until they become deeply rooted in our hearts.
In this current season of my life, I’ve experienced the reality of waiting. I’ve been believing God for a child for over eight years. Every year that passes, I grow older, and naturally there are moments when I could choose fear, disappointment, or discouragement. Instead, I’ve learned to come back to God’s Word.
These Scriptures have become my anchor.
I’ve written them down, spoken them out loud, meditated on them, and allowed them to strengthen my faith day after day. Because of that, I’ve experienced a peace and joy that can only come from God. My waiting season has not robbed me of the joy of living because God has continually met me here. He has comforted me, encouraged me, and reminded me over and over again that He is a good Father.
Before You Read These Verses
I believe with all my heart that God is not withholding good things from His children. I’m in a waiting season, but that doesn’t change His character. He is loving, faithful, kind, and trustworthy. He alone can truly satisfy, comfort, and strengthen us while we wait.
That’s why it’s so important to guard the way we think about God during seasons of waiting. If we begin to believe that He is distant, uncaring, or deliberately withholding good things from us, our faith will be hindered. But when we see Him as the good Father that He is, it becomes so much easier to trust His timing and believe His promises.
My prayer is that these Scriptures become more than just verses you read once and move on from. I encourage you to choose the ones that speak most deeply to your heart. Write them down. Place them somewhere you’ll see them every day. Speak them out loud over your life because there is power in our words. Proverbs 18:21 tells us that “Death and life are in the power of the tongue‘
As you speak God’s Word, you’ll hear it with your own earsโand faith grows by hearing the Word of God.
Allow the Holy Spirit to speak to you through these verses. These aren’t simply a collection of encouraging Scriptures I’ve gathered together. They have been intentionally chosen because they reveal God’s heart for those who are waiting. My prayer is that they strengthen your faith, fill you with hope, and remind you that God is faithful to every promise He has made.
No matter what you’re waiting for, remember this: God is still good, He is still working, and He is always worth trusting.
