10 ways to beat wrinkles the natural way (it *is* possible without chemicals and nasty toxins, trust me!) but I want to start out by saying that wrinkles can be so beautiful. They tell stories of a life well lived and a badge of honor to those who have laughed and smiled throughout their lifetime. I am not anti-wrinkles over here! However, I think it’s true to say that we can often tell the difference between those who are gracefully aging while still looking after their skin, and those who have allowed sun, smoking and the stress of life take control over their skin. I know which person I want to be and it’s never too late to start putting in a little extra effort when it comes to protecting and caring for our skin.
If you take anything away from this post let it be this; you have the ability to look after your skin well, you’re not a victim, you’re powerful and have the tools to do it without having to pay a fortune and listen to all the marketing garbage that the media throws at us. Sometimes we just need to know *what* to do. So here is my list of 10 ways to beat wrinkles the natural way. You don’t need to do all 10, just pick and choose the ones that your conscience highlighted to you, because small changes can make big differences in the long run!
Exposing ourselves to chemicals is not the way I would prefer to handle this (there are *so* many anti-wrinkle skin care approaches that are FULL of chemicals) therefore, I have been on a journey of finding non toxic and holistic skincare and tools to help you make good decisions about your overall health.
I am not formally trained in skincare, however I know that the hours and hours I have spent researching and testing tools and products will save you time! The way I see it is I’d rather invest in tools and products that I have seen work now, then have skin that is difficult to renew later down the line except with very expensive treatments. using natural, non-toxic ingredients in skincare that I trust will put me ahead of the game so I don’t have to pay for it later.
Therefore let me share with you 10 ways to beat wrinkles the natural way for smooth, healthy and glowing skin!

1. Water
There are a lot of misconceptions about our skin care and one of those is that healthy skin care mostly has to do with what we put on our skin. However, the best skin care comes from within. Drinking water is VITAL for healthy skin. Women are encouraged to drink 2.7 liters a day which equals 11.5 cups.
Just to reiterate this is for pure water only, any other types of liquid like coffee, tea or juice do not count, so I would suggest drinking most of the water in the first part of the day so it doesn’t build up in your afternoon. Being properly hydrated is number 1 when it comes to healthy skin! I have found adding LMNT Electrolyte powder to water adds a nice flavour plus additional nutrients.
2. Nutritious Foods
Second to being hydrated is eating nutritious whole foods. What you eat does not become just part of your inner health, but the outer fabric of your body as well. The healthier you eat, the younger and more vibrant your skin will look! High antioxidant content is very important to protect any damage to the membrane of skin cells. Strawberries, Blackberries, Blueberries and Plums have a high amount of antioxidants and therefore they are a great guard against premature aging.
Essential fatty acids are also responsible for healthy cell membranes, and because the cell membrane also holds water in, the stronger the barrier is and the better your cells can hold moisture. That equals younger, plumper looking skin! To ensure getting the essential fatty acids you need I recommend Walnuts, Flaxseed, Salmon and Olive Oil.
3. Avoid sun overexposure
The sun gives us essential Vitamin D that our body needs to thrive. However, there is absolutely a thing as overexposure. When this happens, the first layer of our skin, which is meant to protect against the sun’s ultraviolet rays, gets too much exposure and cannot protect the cells which then leads to reduced elasticity and premature aging. I recommend getting the sun on your face for 20 minutes in the early morning when the UV rays are at their weakest strength and then try and avoid it for the rest of the day. Here is my favourite sunscreen.
4. Glow Collagen
I know that Collagen has been a popular product and has received a lot of hype. There are also a lot of different types out there which of course means we need to figure out which ones are good quality and which are not. Firstly, why Collagen for skin care? Advanced type 1 Collagen assists in rebuilding and rejuvenating skin, hair and nails. As we age our ability to produce collagen decreases. There are many powder collagens out there but liquid collagen is much better for absorption. This Collagen has had the best results that I’ve seen and so many testimonies that have really blown my mind. I highly recommend this Collagen as I believe it’s the best on the market.
5. Nourish Meal Replacement
Nourish is like a sister product to Glow Collagen. It is a full meal replacement, support gut health and has a unique component (GOS) which is actually found in human breast milk which enhances the gut to skin pathway. This component clinically reduces wrinkles, age spots and enhances hydration. It also enables our skin to hold more collagen in place. Highly recommend pairing this with Glow Collagen and be blown away by the results!
6. Rejuvenate
What makes Rejuvinate amazing is that it is a one stop shop. Meaning that you don’t need to put so many different strums and creams on your face. This moisturizer works as an all in one which eliminates a complicated facial regime and helps your skin look healthy, refreshed, and radiant by helping to improve the skin’s hydration and moisture retention. It reduces the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles improving skin texture and elasticity. You can get it here!
7. Facial Dry brush
This one took a little bit of convincing for me, like what on earth could dry brushing your face have to do with beating wrinkles? But the more I researched it, the more I am convinced that it actually does have amazing benefits. How it works? Simply, it aids in preventing wrinkles. The way it does this is it helps exfoliate the skin, improves blood flow and circulation to the face and increases cell turnover (all of these things help prevent wrinkles and bring the glow back to your skin! It’s so easy to do as you just need to start at the center of your face and brush (not too hard) outwards and upwards to exfoliate and promote lymph movement. I love this one!
8. Gua Sha
This one was also a weird one for me but it was literally coming up everywhere when I was researching. Gua Sha is a ridged sided type of thin stone and what it does is reduces puffiness, and reduces wrinkles. Don’t believe me? Do a little bit of research and you’ll be amazed at the results! Just doing light back and forth motions around the areas that are most prone to wrinkles and this impactful and gentle stimulation produces collagen, improves circulation and boosts skin renewal, win, win win! Just do it for 2 minutes everyday!
9. Sleep with a silk pillow case
This usually shows up in the top 5 list of healthier hair, however did you know it has benefits for your skin? Switching from a pillow case that is made from polyester or cotton to a smooth, silky pillowcase can help inflammation, irritation andddd wrinkles! Silk is expensive so I suggest a satin alternative with very similar, if not the same benefits! These ones are super affordable and feel great!
10. Use a Humidifier
The air filtered through a humidifier hydrates your skin, prevents sensitivity, clogged pours, dryness and fine lines. Sleep with one on and your skin will feel so fresh in the morning!
I hope you learnt something new new from these 10 ways to beat wrinkles the natural way! Remember Holistic health is better than targeted approaches.
