Get to know Alison

Hey, I’m Alison!

I am a small-town Australian online coach, wellness lover, spiritual and holistic health advocate, and the number 1 fan of women thriving in life, even in the middle of a difficult waiting season. I am into almond croissants, well written emails and living an abundant life in Jesus.

Want to know what lights me up? Helping women discover who they were created to be, find their peace and thrive in their current waiting season.

This blog is something the Lord told me to start writing. For years I didn’t know why, or what my ‘niche’ was. However, one day I knew exactly who I wanted to reach and why. Suddenly everything made sense.

I have experienced many confusing waiting seasons. I know they can be difficult and rob you from your present life. These last few years have been an incredible journey for me of learning what it means to thrive in Jesus while holding onto the tension of waiting in faith and hope. I believe God has taught me so much and I want to teach others what He has taught me. I have honestly never been happier, because I know that Jesus is and always will be my testimony. He gives me purpose, joy and fulfilment in this waiting season, everyday.

Therefore, I love to help faith-based women thrive and discover their purpose in their waiting season of life. Whether they are waiting to get pregnant, find their husband, land their dream job, or are going through a big transition that feels hard, I created this space for you.

We aren’t going to be shallow here, we are going to delve deep and get you set up for living a life where you thrive in *all* areas.

Faith and Emotional Wellness are the foundation of this blog. Once you discover that your identity is in Jesus, you start building your life on the truth, which is the only solid foundation that lasts. If we can become healthy in this area, everything else will fall into place.

I also write about Self-care, Habits, Goals, Travel, Healthy Relationships Lifestyle tips and money to give you practical steps to steward this beautiful life God has given you. I believe that once you know who you are, you will want to look after yourself in a healthy way, enjoy life more, invest into relationships well and thrive in all areas.

I’ll share inspiration on how to enjoy life to it’s fullest, no matter what you’re waiting for, to appreciate life’s little moments and to create space for the things that enhance the quality of your life, which is a gift to be cherished.

Alison Aghassi Blog: Origin

At University I studied Social Science ‘the scientific study of human society and social relationships’.

I found it fascinating, I just *love* humans! However, it was also sad to learn how broken humanity really is. How desperate we are for answers to life’s questions and how we try to fulfill our lives and relationships in ways that don’t end up being life giving at all.

I also worked at a boarding school for troubled teenagers and learnt SO much about how personal we can take life, easily become victims, and even if we do all the *practical* self-help/care rituals we will not become fully FREE unless we take a holistic approach with Jesus.

I believe God has all the answers for us to live abundantly and Free! However, we need to go after these things. He asks us to seek and we will find, knock and the door will be opened.

Looking back on my life I can see how God aligned everything so perfectly. Even when I felt like the season I was in had no purpose, God worked everything out for my good. He showed me that He had a plan for my life when I felt like time was just flying past me. Everything I experienced and learnt has brought me to this place, where I feel fully equipped to help women who are in a waiting season and feel scared, hopeless and stuck, live the lives of their dreams.

I couldn’t think of anything else that would make me feel more fulfilled.

AMSTERDAM 🌷🇳🇱 What an experience! It was AMSTERDAM 🌷🇳🇱
What an experience! It was so beautiful and interesting. Filled with so much history, breathtaking architecture and weeds and nudity…

What a combination.

My family roots are 100% Dutch. It’s my grandparents home from both sides. It’s special to me and I loved being there. But the spiritual darkness that is there is real.

Who else has been and what was your experience?

8 years ago I moved abroad to the US from Australi 8 years ago I moved abroad to the US from Australia.
And 2 months ago my husband, dog and I moved to Germany. 🇩🇪

So what’s next for us? ✨

-I am learning German, it’s hard so feel free to encourage me lol

-I won’t be able to work for a while so I’m LIVING IT UP (mostly with pastries)

-Aldrin has some interviews coming up for work (he is German so he can start working straight away)

-We are living with friends, in their built out attic and it has been the best way to start in a foreign country - instant community, pizza nights, bbq’s etc..

-We are loving being a part of a smaller Church, feels already like family

-In a few months we will start looking for our own place, which will make it feel real that this Country is home

-Attainable travel in Europe is a dream come true and I’ll be sharing it all!

-We feel so privileged and blessed to be living in our 3rd Country together 🇦🇺🇺🇸🇩🇪

-Big life transitions are hard (miss family and friends everyday) but thankfulness has been the key for us

-Lastly, Aldrins cousin made us a cake to welcome us here to Germany from Australia and then the US🥹 what is my life?!

It’s not entirely true but it’s still funny 😂

THINGS I WISH I’D KNOWN BEFORE IMMIGRATING TO TH THINGS I WISH I’D KNOWN BEFORE IMMIGRATING TO THE USA 🇺🇸 FROM AUSTRALIA 🇦🇺
⬇️
-Marrying a permanent resident is NOT the same as marrying a US Citizen. It took me 2 years to be allowed back into the US. Marrying a citizen is much faster, knowing that in advance would have been helpful lol 😑

-Every state in the US is almost like a different Country, they have their own culture and laws, unlike Australia where they are much more similar

-Public transport is so different in the US (unless you live in a major City.) So many people I know there have never been on a train before 🤯

-Not having free medical insurance is just like in the movies, it’s hard to plan financially and save, I’ll forever be grateful for Australia’s medical system

-The work/life balance is probably my least favourite things about living in the US. US employees are actually not always legally entitled to paid holidays, but on average employees do provide on average around 5-10 paid vacation days a year.

-Thanksgiving is the best! We love it and want to incorporate it into our traditions 🦃

-Writing dates backwards I am used to now, but it took forever! My birthday is 28/7 but in the US it is 7/28…

-Americans are sO good at championing each other and celebrating peoples success, it’s such a beautiful part of their culture! 🙌🏼

-Squirels look just like they do in the cartoons 🐿️

-Lastly, don’t ask for a side of ‘chips’ with your burger, you will be disappointed 😆
